Kulgam, Dec 28 (KNO): Jammu and Kashmir police on Monday claimed to have arrested two persons and seized 12 bags of government rice and six bags of flour meant for black marketing from their possession. Spokesman in a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said that during intervening night of 27/28 Dec, 2020, a naka was established at DPL Crossing Kulgam where police party led by I/C SHO Kulgam SI Imtiyaz Malik under the supervision of DySP HQRs Kulgam Ghulam Mohd Bhat intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK03-9155 and while checking the vehicle officers found government flour six bags weighing 45 Kg each and government Rice12 bags weighing 50 Kg each loaded in it. The persons namely Aejaz Ahmad Dar, son of Mushtaq Ahmad Dar of Shamispora Bijbhera (Driver) and Farooq Ahmad Dar, son of Muhammad Amin Dar of Shamispora Bijbhera (Conductor) while questioning revealed that the said Rice and Flour present in the vehicle is meant for Black Marketing. “Both the persons were arrested on spot and recovered government rice and flour was seized along with vehicle used for commission of crime,” police said, adding that a case under FIR number 231/2020 under section 409 IPC, 3/7 EC Act stands registered in police Station Kulgam and further investigation is in process.
